Tencent Cloud and IO-AI Tech Announce Strategic Partnership to Build End-to-End Cloud–Edge Embodied AI Solutions
February 9, 2026 — Tencent Cloud and IO-AI Tech (IO), a leading provider of foundational scenario data and solutions for embodied intelligence robotics, today announced a strategic partnership to jointly develop cloud–edge integrated solutions for embodied AI. By deeply integrating Tencent Cloud’s infrastructure with the IO platform, the collaboration aims to lower R&D barriers for embodied intelligence companies and accelerate the advancement of China’s robotics industry toward higher levels of intelligence and industrialization.

As artificial intelligence rapidly extends into the physical world, embodied intelligence — enabling robots to perceive, reason, and act like humans — has emerged as a critical frontier. However, progress in embodied AI remains highly dependent on massive volumes of real-world data, large-scale simulation training, and reliable cloud–edge coordination. High technical complexity and costs continue to be major obstacles to large-scale commercialization.
To address these challenges, IO and Tencent Cloud will collaborate across key stages including data processing, model training, and deployment. The partnership will begin with the joint construction of a dedicated data foundation. Leveraging Tencent Cloud services such as object storage and data acceleration, the solution will enable efficient storage, processing, and intelligent retrieval of large-scale multimodal data, including video streams and sensor data. For compute-intensive model training, Tencent Cloud’s high-performance computing clusters will support large-parameter pretraining and physics-based simulation at scale.
IO’s platform will also integrate Tencent Cloud HAI (High-Performance Application Infrastructure), providing developers with ready-to-use GPU environments to rapidly deploy and fine-tune vision–language–action models. This integration significantly reduces the cost and complexity of transitioning embodied AI systems from experimentation to production.
In parallel, both parties will explore deeper collaboration around the embodied intelligence open platform Tairos, further improving compatibility and execution efficiency across diverse hardware platforms. Tairos is jointly developed by Tencent Robotics X Lab and Futian Lab, and is powered by Tencent Cloud. It unifies algorithms, simulation, cloud compute, data, and networking into a full-stack AI foundation designed for real-world robotic deployment. The platform serves robotics companies, universities, and research institutions, and supports applications in intelligent manufacturing, warehouse logistics, commercial services, and other scenarios requiring complex physical interaction.
This strategic partnership marks an upgrade to the long-standing collaboration between Tencent Cloud and IO. In May 2025, at the 2025 ICRA Bimanual Robot Capability Boundary Challenge, one of the most influential international robotics competitions, IO stood out among 88 global teams to win the Best Application Award. As the only cross-border teleoperation team in the competition, IO’s operator in Shenzhen successfully controlled a robot located more than 12,000 kilometers away, completing multiple high-difficulty tasks with millisecond-level responsiveness and zero perceptible latency — a result made possible by Tencent Cloud’s underlying infrastructure.
Today, Tencent Cloud serves more than 40 embodied intelligence companies, with over 90% of leading domestic players partnering with Tencent Cloud. Backed by deep expertise in compute, storage, and real-time communication, Tencent Cloud is becoming a key ecosystem connector for the embodied intelligence industry, helping accelerate the transition from laboratory research to real-world deployment.
